How we can help during your hospital stay

We offer pastoral care to Episcopal patients, their family and the staff at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. Our goal is to offer open-hearted conversation about hope, gratitude, fear, connection and meaning. Sometimes we just sit and listen. Other times we share some of the prayers for healing found in our church’s Book of Common Prayer. Our team of Episcopal volunteers visits patients on most days of the week.

We are glad to bring you communion using wafers consecrated in a nearby Episcopal
church.

Our chaplain, the Rev. Tom Jackson,  is available to anoint patients and pray for healing; celebrate communion in your room for you and your family; and provide the Episcopal service for Reconciliation of a Penitent (which is also known as confession). Our chaplain can also assist if you are considering completing an Advance Directive.

We’re here to walk with you through this part of your life’s journey – if you want us to be there. Please contact us and let us know so we can be of service to you and your family.
